N840 / 41-19085 (cn 68-3061) Another highlight of the 2016 EAA Airventure was seeing the world's only North American P-64 take to the skies. Built in 1940, the P-64 was originally designated the NA-68 and six were made for the Royal Thai Air Force. Due to Thailand allying itself with Japan, the U.S. government seized these fighters, changed the designation to P-64, and pressed them into service as unarmed trainers for the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
