G-BGXF (cn 47812) Laker Skytrain taxiing by after landing at LAX back in 1980..A British independent airline founded by Sir Freddie Laker,they were the first "low cost", "no frills" long haul airline across the Atlantic...Based out of Gatwick England ,Laker flew to JFK then expanded its routes to include non-stop LGW-LAX...With increasing competition they went bankrupt in Feb 1982. Laker Airways became an inspiration for Richard Branson who created Virgin Atlantic Airways.......
