N831RP / N862RW (cn 145663) **Best viewed at 1152 size.** Shuttlecraft flight 6448 from Atlanta sits in the snow off the departure end of runway 28 in this picture of Chautauqua E-135 N831RP heading for the de-icing pad. The E-170 was landing in a lake-effect snow squall and didn't stop until it ran off the end of the runway, down a small slope and through the perimeter fence. No one was injured in the incident, and the aircraft was repaired and returned to service. |

N862RW (cn N862RW) This Shuttle America (callsign "Mercury") E-170 is passing high over Cleveland where it was almost written off following a runway overrun in a February 2007 snowstorm, thankfully no one was hurt. Operating today as flight 5939 from Chicago Midway (MDW/KMDW) to New York LaGuardia (LGA/KLGA), it was good to see this one again. This gallery is full of photos of its accident and restoration...just click on the registration link. |

N862RW (cn 17000098) Rolling on runway 24L, N862RW makes its final departure as 'Frankenplane' on its way to Greenville Mississippi and a fresh coat of paint prior to returning to service. This E170 spent the last nine months in Cleveland getting rebuilt from the wings forward due to an accident this past February where this aircraft ran off the runway landing in a snowstorm. Sorry for the backlighting and the heat-haze, but the moment was too good to pass up. November 25, 2007 |

N862RW (cn 17000098) Well, after a long nine months in Cleveland enduring repairs that included a 'decapitation' and replacement of the entire aircraft forward of the wings, N862RW finally departs Hopkins for good on its way to Greenville Mississippi. There, it will receive a fresh coat of paint and be returned to service with most passengers probably none the wiser. The Allega concrete plant where the concrete for the runway project is made, is visible below the plane on the southeast end of the field. November 25, 2007 |

N862RW (cn 17000098) A bit of a closer view of this Shuttle America E-170 which ran off the runway during a snowstorm this past February. After an extensive summer-long rebuild in which the entire forward section was replaced, it made its outdoor debut and was performing engine tests when photographed today. Good to see it back on its feet! November 18, 2007 |

N862RW (cn 17000098) Since this photo, a further section of fuselage has been removed all the way up to the wings. At the time, the plan was to rebuild this RJ which ran off the runway in February, but some discussion lately may indicate that this aircraft will indeed be scrapped. Only time will tell. The decapitated nose section is visible in the background. July 3, 2007 |
