TI-BBG (cn 208B0572) Parked outside the Sansa terminal at San Jose/Alajeula, this Caravan shows off its tail feathers based on the wing feathers of the Scarlet and Blue Macaw, a large indigenous parrot native to the area. Since this time, the planes have been repainted to more closely represent their association with TACA. |

None (cn None) Not the best photo, but this is a view of Puerto Quepos on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica. Once a sleepy little fishing town, it now plays host to deep sea fishermen and other tourists who are increasingly visiting the region. The town itself is still very much a quaint Central American village...it is the stretch south of here that caters more heavily to the tourism industry with Manuel Antonio State park and it's uncrowded beaches nearby. |

None (cn None) An overview of runway 4/22 at Quepos. Now paved with asphalt, on my first visit here in 1998, it was covered in cinders. The runway is 3,609 feet long, 35 feet wide, and 85 feet above sea level. Most operations take place with aircraft landing on runway 22, towards the terminal, and departing on runway 04 as seen in this photo. Although I can find no reference of it being strictly a one-way-in, one-way-out runway, I\\\'ve been there three times and never saw it work any other way, and there aren\\\'t even traces of skid marks on the runway 04 side! |

TI-AYQ (cn 422) The captain seems to be checking out the left main tire on this Twin Otter before departing Quepos for San Jose/Pavas. It does appear to be a bit low! |

TI-AYQ (cn 422) Rolling out for departure, this angle shows the primitive paint scheme off to good effect. I believe it was designed by the children of the Nature Air sponsored NatureKids program. Nature Air was also the first airline in the world to be declared carbon neutral. |

TI-BAE (cn 208B640) Parked on the ramp at La Managua in Quepos, Costa Rica, the impressive size of the Caravan is made evident by the co-pilot who is standing next to the aircraft. This would be the plane that would take us back to San Jose about ten minutes after this shot. March 13, 2007 |

TI-AYQ (cn 422) Upon arrival from Pavas in San Jose, this Twin Otter is being positioned for deplaning and boarding at the terminal end of the runway at La Managua in Quepos. This festively painted aircraft belongs to the successor of Travelair, whom I first flew to Quepos in 1998. March 13, 2007 |

TI-AWM (cn LA-76) For such a small airport, La Managua at Quepos gets quite a bit of traffic as one of Costa Rica's top tourist spots. This King Air stopped by strictly on business however, and after delivering a parcel, was immediately on its way again. March 13, 2007 |
