Unknown (cn Unknown) Another mystery ship I need help identifying. This Convair C-131 was photographed at the Cleveland Air Show at Burke Lakefront Airport in 1972. The badge and sash on the fuselage should help with ID, but hoping somebody out there got a full shot of this bird.

8916 / 702 (cn 148916) Here is one I knew would not be in the data base! Derived from the anti-sub S-2 Tracker. this E-1B was photographed at the 1972 Cleveland Air Show at Burke Lakefront. The E-1B served as an airborne early warning aircraft, and was replaced by the E-2 Hawkeye, which still flies today.

155895 (cn 3548) Photographed in 1972 at the Cleveland Air Show, note the names on this F-4J canopy rail- Lt Randy Cunningham and Lt(jg) Willie Driscoll- first US Aces of the Vietnam war. They shot down three Migs on 5/10/72 in F-4J s/n 155800, making 5 total for them, and then were hit by a SAM and had to eject. They were recovered, and were sent on a U.S. goodwill tour, including the Cleveland Airshow in this VF-96 F-4J s/n 155895. I am pretty sure I got to meet both pilots. The print is yellow because I had this photo pinned up in my room as a kid. I hope somebody out there got a full picture of this jet! I got a lot of mileage out that little instamatic camera!
