N53NS (cn SH1920) An unusual visitor this day in the form of this SC-7 Skyvan of North Star Air Cargo on a special charter to Cleveland. This aircraft once lost the left cockpit door on departure from Sheldon's Point Alaska damaging the left engine and propeller, and made a successful single engine emergency landing without further incident. October 31, 2005

I was the pilot of this airplane that day at Sheldons point Alaska. The successful landing occured 2 hours later at Bethel Alaska. The intervening time was spent in IMC. The weather when Istarted the approach to Bethel was zero zero. The sky literally opened up for the landing. By the time I got to the ramp, the weather was back to zero zero. Believe.
