N91209 (cn 2585) I picked up this postcard of 4 TWA L-749's at Port Columbus Airport at the AI show in Cleveland. The plane in the foreground, N91209, served with TWA from 7/48 to 6/68. This postcard was issued for the 75th anniversary of Port Columbus airport, and reads: Many people fondly recall being able to watch aircraft from the observation deck of the current Port Columbus terminal that opened in 1958. The planes pictured are Constellations or "Connies" manufactured by Lockheed in the 1940's and 1950's for Trans World Airlines, successor to Transcontinental Air Transport, Port Columbus first Airline. |
