1-24485 (cn 41-24485) The original Memphis Belle displays some impressive mission markings while parked on the NACA ramp at CLE in July of 1943. Famous for flying 25 combat missions, its crew actually completed their 25 missions on Memphis Belles 24th mission, her 25th and final mission being flown on May 19th by a different crew. After that mission, the aircraft was destined to return to America to go on public display. And today, this historical aircraft is being restored at the USAF Museum for permanent display in Dayton (Where it also stopped on its War Bond Tour).
