I consider myself as the first photografer outside the Iron Curtain to photograph the beast of a helicopter. It made a refulling stop at Copenhagen before proceeding towards Paris, Le Bourget including another fuel stop at Amsterdam. It is still possible to admire the elegant curves of Mil-12 at the Monino museum North of Moscow. The other Mil-12 crashed during test flights.
