Multiple (cn Multiple) The Lake Hood Strip and Seaplane base as it is known today was created in the 1940's by joining two lakes: Spenard to the east and Hood to the west, with a pair of channels. Today, it is the busiest seaplane base in the world and has well over 500 aircraft based here, using both the lake and the gravel strip. The entire complex is under the control of the tower at adjacent Ted Stevens/Anchorage International, visible in the distance. |
