Unknown (cn Unknown) Interesting flight over Iraq. We climbed to 48,000 ft and then went way south or Iran. Understood there were some tension between the Swiss and the Arab world.

That's what I thought and we even asked the flight attendant about it. She said "not to worry". But like I said, My 7 year old noticed it and then I had to look twice. I do recall we were directly over baghdad at the time. I did ask the pilot on the way out and he confirmed it but did not elaborate why.

48,000 ft does sound high. The operating ceiling limit is 41,450 ft for the A330

We climbed to 48,000 soon after this was taken...that was what was so strange about it. Even my 7 year old noticed it.

Something tells me you were at 38,000 feet not 48,000 feet.
