What's the difference between these two? Will I receive an email notification if I choose them? Do I receive an email notification if I write a response in the thread? Confused

The Subscribed Topics panel gives a quick way to view and manage the topics a user is subscribed to. If a member is subscribed to a topic they will be sent an email notification when a new post is made.

OK. I also went back to my profile and saw the new section there that allows me to set my subscriptions. I think that may take care of it.
