Not a good weekend for airshows...and the Reno tally has risen to at least nine dead now.

It truley hurts me more and more when I hear of another accident that claims another life from the aviation community. In Reno more so since the lives lost of spectators rise. This year will not be forgotten, neither will the pilots. They died doing what they loved and died bringing us enthusiasts entertainment. This year also makes me think of the pilots who remain with us in life. I will pay more attention to them and less of the planes. I always have appreciated their work and sacrifice, but I plan to show it more. Blue skies to Mr. Leeward and to the pilot of the Trojan Horseman!

When I was on the FD in VA, one of my Lt's and another FF were members of the Guard unit fire dept. It's a beautiful base set in the Shenandoah Mts. They used to, and maybe still fly C-130's.

The shows were great there.

Out of the sandbox, finally!
