As strange as it may seem to some, there are millions of people who support and admire the man for his crusades and missions. We don't all have to agree with his practices or his beliefs, but in fairness, maybe we should be more mindful of those who do.
There are hundreds of aviation based ministries that provide valuable services to many poor or disadvantaged people around the world. When I was in Alaska, I photographed numerous aircraft operated by religious organizations that provide valuable medications/medevac services and provisions to remote villages and outposts on the tundra. No matter your opinions, you have to respect the work these people do, often under difficult or dangerous circumstances.
I don't know exactly how P4-FSH is utilized by the Reverend, and I know it is considered a bit of "overkill" by many, but I'm sure he's got his reasons, especially since he would have known in advance that he was going to be slightly conspicuous! (Maybe that is exactly the reason why he went with a 747?)
I'm not coming out one way or the other about my own personal religious beliefs, except to say that I do believe we should remember that we ALL believe something, whether that means you "believe" or not!
I, for one, can't wait to see P4-FSH again!
The reverend explains it all on his website:
Star Triple Seven is the fulfillment of a promise that God gave Rev. Angley many years ago. A miracle of God provided the finances for this beautiful Boeing 747SP, and its only missions are to win souls for the Lord.
I do think the Aruban registration of a plane that came from the middle east is highly suspect.
A lot of aircraft are registered in countries outside of their normal scope of operations...same thing with yachts, ships, and other high-value investments. Aruba, since it has very favorable tax rates among other advantages, is just one of them:

I dunno...if I could ever afford something that large, I just may register it in Aruba too!
Why would the fact that it came from the Middle East be suspicious, though? It's just a plane, and as a former governmental aircraft, I imagine it was well cared for and already well appointed inside. Maybe he got it at a bargain?!
