AKRON-CANTON AIRPORT -- A jet owned by Ernet Angley Ministries made a "hard landing" at Akron-Canton Airport Tuesday morning. No one was hurt.
According to an airport spokeswoman, the jet was practicing training maneuvers known as touch-and-go landings when it blew several tires.
While debris from the tires was being cleared from a runway, two flights at the airport were impacted.
An incoming AirTran flight had to circle for about half an hour before being cleared to land. A departing US Air flight had to delay its take off until the runway was cleared.
Five people were on board the plane.
The NTSB and FAA will investigate.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating a “hard landing” of international televangelist Ernest Angley’s 747 jet about noon today at Akron-Canton Airport.
“A couple of tires blew, but the plane landed safely,” said airport Senior Vice President Kristie Van Auken, who noted the large aircraft has 22 tires. “They were able to taxi onto the taxi way.”
Van Auken said airport emergency vehicles reached the aircraft almost immediately. Five passengers left the plane uninjured. She did not know if Angley, 90, whose Grace Cathedral is in Cuyahoga Falls, was onboard.
She said it took airport employees about 30 minutes to clear the runway of the tire debris.
“At this point, we’re not speculating on what caused it,” Van Auken said.
