SAN FRANCISCO -- As prosecutors mulled whether to file charges against a college football player who allegedly refused to pull up his sagging pants at San Francisco International Airport, the outside world seized the incident to debate broader questions about respect, You need to be a member to view our links.
id say its a safety risk, imagine trying to get out of a burning plane when your pants drop to your knees/ankles, you fall and at the same time, people behind you trip over you and several others fall as well blocking passage to safely getting off the plane
I posted a story about this on the front page last night:

I never understood the baggy pants...okay, so you want to be different, I'm cool with that, but don't you want to be comfortable too? All those guys ever do is try to keep those pants from falling off their thighs...that would drive me crazy! To each his own, I guess...
When I'm near the entrance to the McNamara Terminal on my trips to Detroit I see all kinds fashion nightmares headed for the gates. Spaghetti string tank top with bra straps exposed, faded jami pants, flip flops, greasy hair pulled back into a hair clip, was one which had me wondering if Wal Mart Econo Air was actually a real airline, and where could I get a pic of their plane. If you want to dress like one of the dope boys, fine, but you better not slow the evacuation like a punk running from the police with one hand holding up your drawers lest you end up with my footprints on the back of your head.
I'm sure this guy could evacuate the plane much better than the "business" lady with huge high heels and a skirt that restricts leg movement from the knees up. Somebody was just annoyed with this guy's fashion taste. Sure, I don't like wearing my pants low like that because it's not comfortable and I think it looks silly, but I bet he thinks I look equally silly the way I wear my pants. I would bet the whole ordeal started with somebody trying to assert their opinion about his pants. I like the guy's quote about at least admitting our hypocrisy.
