After flying so many times, it's easy to find the "pre-flight instructions" to be a bit of a nuisance. I usually just keep reading during them, so I would be inclined to find this a bit of a distraction!
I was on a flight once (NAS-CVG) with a flight attendant who was a bit on the ditzy side. She somehow managed to get the seat-belt tangled up with the oxygen mask AND the cord on the microphone and nearly fell while trying to get them untangled. She had this huge knotted-up mess hanging from the cord and eventually just gave up on untangling them and used the microphone then (and throughout the flight) with the stuff hanging from it. About a half-hour into the flight, someone finally broke down and told her she forgot to take the life jacket off. Now THAT was an entertaining way to give pre-flight instructions! She was a trooper about it and found her own antics quite funny and never seemed flustered, so I don't feel too bad about laughing!
I think it's great, and if it keeps people like Nate watching, all the better! (Just picking on you, buddy! ) I think it's well done and would love to see it on one of my flights. I still pay attention to the demo after all these years, if for no other reason than to show my respect for the crews doing them. I also always count the number of rows to the nearest exit fore and aft, and if I'm in an exit row you'd better bet I briefed myself on how to open the door...you just never know!
