I hear the new United Airlines livery is painted on a 747-400 and a former Continental 757-200.

There's a lot swirling around about this.  I can't confirm the 747, but I do know there's a 757, a 737-900 and an -800 being painted in AMA presently.

Someone I work with claims to know someone who saw the former Continental ship 124 at EWR in the United livery.  More than this I do not know.

I have already seen UA's safety demo video which starts next month.  It has Mr. Smisek on it talking about the merged airline...

Don't think I'd care to hear about a merger when I'm supposed to be watching a safety video.  Maybe a seperate video before or after the safety video but not in the same one.

Curious as to if there was a reason they didn't choose to use United's scheme, personally it's more appealing.

That's weird.  What I see as a Continental liveried 739 is really a United 739.    So Continental Airlines is no longer yet their livery lives, and United is now the worlds largest airlines but their livery is now history.
