The event was a really big deal for us. It celebrated Delta's 70 years as Atlanta's hometown airline. In attendance were, in addition to Delta executives, the Georgia governor, both Georgia Senators, several Georgia congressmen, the head of Coca Cola, the head of Chic-fil-A, the highest seniority Atlanta-based flight attendant (when she graduated from flight attendand school C.E. Woolman gave her an orchid and Mr. Woolman died in 1966...), the Atlanta area Delta Skymiles member with the most miles (a little more than 7,000,000), and the Atlanta employee with the most volunteer hours representing the company at Delta sponsored events. The Atlanta mayor was "there" via a video message.
During the year 2011 there will be more celebratory events.
