WOW !!! According to this Seattle Times article, it was a "serious in-flight fire" that affected the flight controls & caused the loss of primary flight displays and the auto throttle.
Wonder if this will affect Boeing's delivery schedule??
The article says that the crew of "30 to 40" was evacuated via the slides.
Question: Is that the typical number of crew on a routine test flight?
prolly is standard for the test flights with 40 folks onboard. Sounds like to me the plane didnt like all those computers hooked up in the back. Something shorted or overheated in that electronics bay.
