Unless it was the number 3 engine, somehow it doesn't look to me like it was an engine that caught on fire??

Agreed, they are saying the fire did not start in the engines:

That plane really , really caught fire...all the way to the cockpit before it exploded.  Amazing more weren't killed.  This one will be interesting to see the cause of.
