"I've seen references to "a Cleveland photographers board" allowed." And yet, "...there are pictures out there of it's arrival yesterday on a certain CLE aviation website" isn't? I tried to be be obscure. Sure, there's an allusion to a site, but never did I once provide a link, name a name, or violate what I read in their rules.
I honestly don't know why this conglomerate is worried about my little site for, but if they are, I'll take that as good news!
Granted, this is a couple of years old, but I think it illustrates the mindset of the moderators at A.net. I know that there have been changes amongst the moderators, but their overall feeling of superiority seems to prevail.
You guys are gonna love this! Here is the response I got from Airliners.net when I said I would cancel,
"Dear Melissa,
First of course, if you want to cancel your membershuip, have at it. Use the DELETE USER button on the bottom right of your profile. You'll be gone in a flash. Tomorrow, a dozen people will join this site that will be of benefit to the site. If this post is an indication of your typical post, Airliners.net would probably be better off without your input.
Now, as for your post. If you don't see the Low Quality here, then I'm baffled. It has nothing to do really with the veiled attempt to disguide the word **** with a couple of asterisks. People applaud landings all the time. Whether they are aboard Russian airliners, Boeing airliners or Airbus airliners. Your post was Low Quality, bordering on elementary school level. It added nothing to the thread. It provoked several responses that were also deleted. I should have banned you for that in and of itself. Posters that cause cascade deletions generally get canned for a couple of days anyway.
It was suggested for deletion, I wholeheartedly concurred, and deleted the post.
As for starting your own site - enjoy yourself. I'm sure it will never equal Airliners.net. None that I'm aware do, although there are many imitators out there. Again, if your post I deleted is any indication of the quality of "your" web site, Airliners.net has nothing to worry about.

To admit full disclosure, here is the entire post from which I quoted the above:

I really don't think her joke was all that humorous either, but the tone of the reply says a lot.
Wow, that is a shame.
Last time I checked this was the definition of a forum.....
You need to be a member to view our links.
It seems pretty cut and dry. Not everyone has to agree with others opinions and that is what makes up a forum.
A.net can get a bit stuffy at times, but c'mon man, this is way over the top.
Now, I will be checking my inbox for a harsh scolding from the mods regarding my link to another site. You guys are pretty laid back, it makes for a relaxed browsing session.
Wow. I've had minimal experience with the forums there, simply because there is SOOO much written there, mostly by people who want to get enraged over tiny details that folks like me who are not employed in the aviation industry understand little to nothing about. A couple times I've tried to upload some pictures, but an amateur like me doesn't stand a chance. I love OPShots! Keep up the good work, Chuck!
I'm proud to say that I believe I was the other member from here banned at a.net!
My profanity laced email to them got me banned for 2 yrs! I go and read some posts every now and then because in all honesty, the industry's ins and outs are there. I have no idea if I can even post there yet, as I never will again anyways.
Aw come on Chucker....im disappointed in ya man. You shoulda known they'd pull that bullshit wit you because of Opshots. Screw'em.....we all know where they stand in the Aviation world and it surely aint the topic of aviation really.
Ive made an account there a long time ago, posted once and never went back. Too many uppity know it alls there for my liking. Ill stick to Opshots. Its locally ran and most of the folks here ive met in person. Take that Anet.....and where the sun dont shine......use'in a baseball bat....with rusted nails attached.....
