And here's what I got in return:
Dear rampkontroler,
This is an automated message to let you know that your message with the title
"EMB Legacy From GOL Collision Back In The US" has been removed from the discussion forum on
Airliners.net for the following reason:
This is a personal message from the forum moderator srbmod:
"Repost without the reference
to a "certain CLE aviation
website". "
ADVERTISMENT
Your post was determined to be in violation of our advertising policy.
Do not post links to other sites where you have posted your own content
(blogs, articles, websites, etc) when you could have posted the same
content
You may or may not know that I had it out with the moderators on "a certain international aviation site" several years ago, resulting in several suspensions. Luckily for me, I saved all of the &^*!$%!! that they sent me and I finally trapped one mod in his own lies and got him removed. (Yes, I actually called Demand Media, left a message, and then sent the whole ball of crap to them.)
Then I basically quit. Yesterday I went back for the first time in over a year, just to see if any old friends had sent me a personal message; none had, so I altered my profile and got the heck out of there.
Yeah, and now I'm really scared:
(Again, I stress that I did not mention OPShots or link to it. If they are that hard up to keep their iron fisted ways then fine...I sure as hell don't need them.)

Sounds like the same *&^!$%!! I was subjected to. Why he would say that when you just said you were leaving, is just another example of the contemptuous attitude they took with me.
And you know the reason they are cracking down on this issue is because of Airwhiners.net. To tell you the truth, I'd love to see the California law that prohibits you from sharing this message. He might just be violating your actual legal rights.
Yeah, it's just silly. They are only out for the almighty dollar and really don't care about sharing information. The thing is, I was extra careful not to mention the site by name or to post a link to it, so that's what ticked me off. They've obviously got me flagged. They can keep their gestapo tactics and their stupid website.
Come to think of it, Rule 5H might just be the result of my clash with the mods. They told me I was junking up their inboxes when I pointed out inconsistencies, antagonistic behavior, and outright lies to other moderators, and threatened to increase the duration of my suspension. I told them that I would contact Demand Media if I had to, and it looks like my EECB (Executive E-mail Carpet Bomb) had some effect. Too bad they can't take it like they dish it out.
I have seen references to "a Cleveland photographers board" allowed.
FWIW, I sometimes read but no longer bother posting on airliners.net because their huge membership expansion has resulted in an equally huge decline in the quality of the posts. There is just too much junk to wade through to get to the rare interesting or insightful comment.
I once posted my theory that all useful information was invariably contained within the first 15 posts in a thread. That got deleted within a couple of hours.
Recently I got an email inviting me back, stating that there had been a turnover in moderators and the new ones had been instructed to allow more controversy and argument, but so what? That's not what I'm looking for either.
