Scanning the news via Google I ran across this:

A Qantas A380 taking off from Singapore,
seems one of the engines had a catastrophic failure.
I didn't see anything about it here on the forum, so I just figured I'd post the link.
Edit: I just saw some pics on TV. It definitely was a "catastrophic failure".

I've heard this report on the radio. Apparently Qantas is grounding all of their A380s because of this. I wonder if others will follow suit?

Yahoo has a video of the incident. Engine parts and pieces all over, they report "showered" a part of town. Pretty big chunk of the engine was missing.
