Due to some nasty headwinds over the Atlantic, we stopped in Gander, Newfoundland to get some fuel. I always find that area of the world amazing. So isolated and so beautiful. Below a little town right by the Atlantic. Must be weird to have icebergs floating in your front yard… The pictures never seem to do it justice, the point and shoot along with the harsh light and through the windows takes its toll.

Here we are on approach over some beautiful scenery. Quite a few layers of clouds, and it was pretty gusty.

Here is a frozen lake on the way to the airport.

And the same lake with wing and engine.

I have to admit that the more I do this, the less likely it is for me to pull the camera out. But Newfoundland is always something special. It is amazingly remote. The people there are super friendly. I think it would be cool to live up there. I'll try to be better with taking and posting pictures.
Of course what everyone fails to mention is that most of the cities operated by the 757 would not even have service if it had to be a larger aircraft since it would not make any money. I think as a passenger I would rather make a 25-60 minute stop in a cool city than connect through some major hub which would probably take a whole lot longer anyway.
