ILS 6R CAT II

Coming soon in a JEPP revision for CLE will be an ILS 6R CAT II.

This is one of the first ILS in the U.S. which contains a glide slope of 3.1 degrees. This allows the use of closely spaced 1.5 NM dependent approach procedures. (FAAO 7110.308 in case you want to google)

This is a precedent setting approach and in the future may allow CAT III on all runways involved.

This CAT II for CLE will assist in winter months during snow removal or during times of construction. It also means that we have CAT II minimums or better on all four main runway ends.

Hopefully this combined with some well designed NexGen flight paths we will have some good views combined with lower noise over the more populated areas.
