Following our Facebook post, according to Bloomberg news, "In the two days leading up to the game two nights ago, which James called “one of the biggest sporting events up there ever,” 74 jets landed at Burke Lakefront Airport in downtown Cleveland. At least 41 of those were in Cleveland specifically for their occupants to see the Cavaliers play the New York Knicks, said Todd Payne, chief of marketing and air service development for the Cleveland Airport System.
That’s up from the roughly 15 jets a day that typically land at the two-runway facility. Burke brought in $2,410 in landing fees off those 41 aircraft and sold another $57,000 worth of jet fuel two days ago."
Burke sees 54,596 take offs and landings a year, an average of 152 a day, including flight academy training. On average the airport sees 15 jets take off and land each day.
