With this hurricane shaping up to be a doozy, do you think we will be getting lots of repositioned aircraft at CLE?  Previous hurricanes have brought military aircraft here to ride out the storm, plus with NYC and DC under the gun, perhaps CO and UA will reposition some planes here.  I'm just thinkin'....

Do we have the space to store a sizable number of large aircraft?

I hope so....but just in the plane geek sense.  I hope it isn't actually that bad for obvious reasons.  It would be cool to have a bunch of birds show up here - we have the big new pad next to the de-ice pad and since it's not in use they could park aircraft on the pad itself.  If we are talking about military aircraft we could put a bunch of them out there.

Well I dont think they will need the de-icing pad very soon or the old 18/36 so maybe?

Agreed...in a personal sense I hope it isn't that bad, especially with family in Norfolk, VA, and friends in DC, but it's starting to look pretty bad.  On the geek side, yeah, there's room for a few aircraft here that's for sure..like you said, the de-icing pad is available as is pad 3.  The old 18/36 no longer exists except maybe a couple tiny spots, but I'm pretty sure it's 100% gone now, buried under the de-icing pad and pad 3.  I remember taking off from 36 once...what a thrill!

Think tomorrow could see the diversions with this thing scheduled to make landfall late Saturday.

If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.

We have 2 G5's, 2 G4's, a Legacy and a Swift Air 737-400 sitting on our ramp.  A few of them are directly Irene related.
