I need to buy a pair of tickets ASAP for a trip back next month. Does anyone have any experience with Iberia?
So far, the cheapest flight is on Saudia, and the wife and I prefer not to fly on them. It's not that they are a bad airline. It's just that they are the national airline of KSA, and all of the Saudis fly on them. And when they fly on there, let's just say they are very excitable, like children.
The next cheapest fare I found is with British Airways. BA from RUH to LHR. Then American to JFK/CLE. Return is AL to ORD (YUCK!!!), then LHR. Ending with Iberia back to RUH.
The wife is leery of Iberia because she is not familiar with them. I've read up on their history, and it's a long one. I'm just a bit nervous about the layoffs and cutbacks that they instituted last November.
Any info would be very appreciated.
Doug
Out of the sandbox, finally!
No personal experience, however, International Airlines Group, a holding company formed by British Airways, owns both British Airways and Iberia. While they are not one operating entity, they operate to similar standards. I've never heard anything horrendously bad about IB and Madrid terminal 4 is supposed to be pretty nice.
