Had to go over to Riyadh Air Base for a medivac pick up. Was surprised when I was told we were going to the VIP side.We waited 30 minutes past scheduled touchdown for our patient to arrive, and when they did, I saw why we were on the VIP side.
Turns out that they came on board a C130. HZ-MS06 to be exact. Nice looking tricked out medivac bird. I wish that I could have gotten some shots, but we were a bit busy. Plus, BIG signs all over in English and Arabic about No Photography. What a shame. There was some interesting stuff there. A white 767, and what looked to be a 737. Also saw a USAF King Air taxi in, and an old Sikorsky S61. One of the types that has the long fuselage similar to the old Jolly Greens.
Next time, I'll try and see if we can park the ambulance "differently."

Out of the sandbox, finally!
Really? It's interesting how they get around.
From what I've been learning, Saudi Medivac is like a national medivac service that flies all over. I don't believe that they fly only certain people, as I have seen regular folks on the planes. I'm guessing that they are like a regional service. We've had flights from Jordan, Lebanon, pretty much all over the Middle East.
Since it is all national healthcare over here, everyone gets to fly.
