According to a couple of credible news reports, Gulfstream's new management has leased six Saab-340's (ex-Colgan?) for Florida-Bahamas routes, replacing B1900's. First delivery in November. Management has hinted there will be more in the future. They have some bids out to replace Great Lakes EAS service, so maybe that's where the displaced B1900's will go. There were a few rumblings about adding non-subsidized routes out of CLE, but nothing concrete to report.
That would be interesting...the S340 has got to be a more comfy aircraft than the 1900D, and may be a good fit for the Florida operation. I hope that they have a better time adapting to the new aircraft than a certain other now defunct carrier did (Region's Air!)
The Mighty Beech is a great plane, but it can be a long time on board without a toilet sometimes.
