This caused us quite a bit of concern last night since one of our co-workers was attending the show and seated in those very VIP seats. Finally, after about an hour of trying, my boss was able to reach him and he is fine. Quite shaken, but fine. He said the plane impacted about 30 yards from where he was, and luckily the debris went in the other direction. He thought he was a goner because it all happened so quickly, and there was just no way of telling which way he should run. All he said he could see were "wings and a prop". He was so full of adrenalin afterwards that he could scarcely stand from all the shaking he was experiencing.
What a terrible tragedy. As bad as it was, it could have been much worse. RIP to those who are gone, and a speedy recovery to all the wounded.
Here is some stuff from my fire sites. This covers both crashes this weekend.
