Since we didn't have an "official" air show thread I figured I'd kick one off.  All 8 Thunderbird jets are safe on deck at CLE.  One F-4 is also there.  The second F-4 had a MX problem.  I don't think there will be two F-4's at CLE but will find out tomorrow.

When did the Rhino show up? I heard big jet noise around six or so, louder than the usual fare out of Hopkins (except for the T-Birds around three). Do we have the B-1 this year? That's always an interesting arrival for the neighborhood (130th just north of Brookpark), since it's usually on short final into the 24s (parallel to 480 instead of 71).

I completely missed the F-4, the one I wanted to see the most.  I hope the other one gets their maintenance problem fixed and gets to come too.  I hope I get a chance to catch some movement tomorrow, otherwise, there's always the show!

(Good idea on the thread, by the way.  We pretty much had one going anyway, but this one can take up the slack!)  Anyone interested in the show schedule can see this thread:

P.S.  I tried to edit the title of the post to say "Cleveland National Air Show, 2011", so that more people would know what it meant, but I couldn't figure out how to edit just the title!Confused

Apparently the T-Birds cancelled practice for today.

Coast Guard pulled up and advised us. What sucks is it looks like cloud deck is now clearing.

Got to Voinovich just as the sport plane finished his act. Got a picture of the Katmai Bay as she was leaving her berth. No planes though...

Yeah the weather turned out great afterwords, o well.  The conditions were kind of crappy anyways if they did fly when they were supposed to, pictures wouldn't have been that great.

Phantom came in about 5pm on Thursday.  The second one is stuck at NAS Meridian in Mississippi with a maintenance issue and won't make it in to town.  No B-1 this year.

Bummer about the other Phantom...at least we have one!  I'll be at the show tomorrow and Monday working at the back of the 737.  If you're there, stop on by and say hi! Laugh
