You and me both. The only Canuck on static is a plain Jane CF-188 (F-18).

On a surprising note, there is an A-10 on static that isn't on their posted static list. Of course, there are things on the list that are NOT there.... :(

So how is it so far? I don't get to see squat over here.

A friend of mine working there told me the CF-188 was going to do a refueling demo with a CC-130.

Out of the sandbox, finally!

They weren't actually hooked up on the flyby during practice on Friday but yeah it's a refuel demo.  Apparently we were apart of history as that CF-188 is the first act to do 2 tactical demos at 2 shows in 2 separate countries without landing with the help of the CC-130 refueling it, the other venue being Toronto.  Pretty cool!

During the show on Saturday there was not a hook up. The CC-130 had the hoses deployed while the 188 flew close behind. There are probably safety concerns about being connected close to the deck. I imagine if they have to disconnect in an emergency, room to operate in any direction is critical. The 130 only made the pass twice for the crowd, then circled to the east while 188 did the demo.

I took over 900 photos there on Sat and Sunday. Once I sort out the garbage and dig up some serial numbers, will start uploading. If you've been to any Cleveland Air Show in the past five years, more of the same minus the FedEx A300 and a USAF jet demo. I did enjoy the wing walker Jane Wicker. Also liked the poorly named US Navy Leap Frogs Parachute demo. They some mid air hook ups with chutes deployed the Golden Knights don't do. Leap Frogs, sounds like a name for a 7-12 yr old female gymnastics team.

Hey Chuck no plane for us this year?..I don't remember seeing anything posted about it anywhere at work like usual, but I thought I just saw a UA tail on the news. But maybe it was old footage. I just hope they didn't send a Airbus.

DJ - The Leap Frogs are volunteers from the SEAL/SWCC community.  The SEALS grew out of the World War II Underwater Demolition Teams or UDTs.  The UDTs were known by the nickname "Frogs."  Hence the name "Leap Frogs."
