Hey guys,

I'm just curious if anyone knows of any times that the air show performers will be practicing or flying in? I tried to google it but I could only find 2011 and 2010 schedules. I was hoping to be able to see a few planes land or practice since I will be downtown all day for school and work on Thursday and Friday. Any insight is appreciated!

Thanks,

  CB

This is a strange year for me...I'm so used to working the show in connection with my work that I'm usually on top of the show, but it appears as if we won't be attending this year (unless something changes in the next couple of days), so I don't know much about it at all!  I'm sure somebody here has a little information?

We, as in you not attending? Or, we, as in UA not bringing in the 737?

Last year someone posted some great info on the forum with practice times and letting people outside the Burke terminal for photos. Can't find it.

Fox 8 weatherman Scott Sabol's forecast predicts remnants of Hurricane Isaac will be over Indiana on Sunday. May be a lousy day at Burke.

Thursday Aug. 30 - 12:00-2:00pm and 3:00-4:15pm

Friday Aug. 31 - 10:00-1:30pm and 2:00-4:00pm

Those times are according to the TFR for when the airport will be closed, the early slot will most likely include the F-18's with the Blues during the later session.  I would also be interested in photo opportunities at the terminal building.

Awesome, thank you guys for all your help. Hopefully I will be able to catch some of the practices. I saw one of the Blues flying over Burke today and then I was able to go take a look at them in the Burke terminal but this was around 5:30 so there may be an opportunity to get terminal shots? I'm a bit disappointed that none of the usual FedEx planes will be static at the show this year. I hope to see some opshots people at the airshow over the weekend!

According to the most recent updated TFR the last airport closing time on Friday has been moved up an hour to 2:00-4:00pm.

Not sure. Last year the RCAF Aurora did both airshows, Toronto and Cleveland. They may just fly in from Canada, do the demo, then fly back without hitting the ground in Cleveland.

Today's practice had the Canadian's fly in, do their thing and leave. I have to assume they are based in Toronto.
