An Asiana Airlines Boeing 747-400 freighter, operating flight OZ991 from Seoul Incheon to Shanghai Pu Dong has gone missing. The aircraft reported problems en route and decided to divert to Jeju (IATA:CJU). The aircraft lost contact with the radar eventually and its last known position was about 100km Southwest of Jeju.

The flight’s scheduled departure out of Seoul was at 0335L and it was due to arrive at Shanghai at 0425L (2025Z).

The aircraft had had a crew of two onboard.

Unofficial sources state that the aircraft has crashed into the ocean and wreckage has been found

Unfortunately, it appears as the outcome was tragic.  RIP to the crew and my thoughts and prayers to friends and family.
