Both of these airshows are on the same weekend in July.  I was thinking of going to an airshow other than Cleveland's.  Both are about the same drive time.  Dayton has the Thunderbirds, TOM has the Blue Angels.  I went to Dayton 20 years ago and enjoyed it.  Thoughts or recommendations?

I usually do both. But since they are both on the same weekend and I can only do one....it's definately TOM! 8 Corsairs, authentic Zero, Fw190, loads and loads of warbirds PLUS tons of Centennial birds. And, oh yeah, the Blues happen to be there, too. Cool To me, it's the must see show.

TOM is the show to go to this year!  It will be one for the ages I'm sure.  Just announced this week is a B-2 fly-by on Saturday and a B-1 fly-by on Saturday and Sunday.  I went to TOM for the first time in '09 and I've made it a must see show every year.

Might want to hit Lost Nation next weekend before you introduce her to TOM...  I think if TOM was my first show I'd think every other show was lame!

I have to say I am pretty psyched about Cleveland this year.

A-10 east team

F4

Heritage Flight with F4, A-10, P-51

plus a V-22 static display (one of only 13 airshows in the USA)!!! BTW, we need a GEEK ALERT about when it is flying in and out!

I was looking at Rochester, but all the advanced promo seemed to be hooey so TOM may be the way to go.

I'm taking the family to Dayton this year. I've never been to that airshow or Mishitgan's at that but I hate driving in Mishitgan so Dayton it is. Laugh

Well the weather was a little bit of a challenge but overall a damn awesome weekend at Thunder...  Ton of pics to go through but here are a couple of the MiG-17/A-4 dogfight:

Indeed it was great at Michigan. My first year and I will be going back now. The taxi photo op pit is a must do next year for me along with the photo tour possibly.
