I was at CLE this afternoon (4:00 ish) and saw an AA MD-80 parked at gate A2, which has not been used by any airline in ages. Does anyone have any idea why it was parked there? Thanks.

Came in Saturday on AA872 at 5.04pm (Tail No. N7540A). Return flight AA853 was cancelled.

I assume it has technical problems and was moved off the usual gate A3 to somewhere ou of the way awaiting repair.

Still looks a bit tight in that gate, which I can only ever remember Midwest using in recent times.
