Looks like the rumors were true. American will order 260 A320's and 200 B737's:

In other news, AA will also divest itself of American Eagle.

Wow, I just saw that, too.  Kind of a disappointment that AA didn't go all-American but Boeing is a bit behind on keeping up with the Jones's I suppose.  The 737NG neo with Leap X engines is interesting but I'm ready for Boeing to get it going with a clean sheet design.  That is a HUGE order, though.

At last ... Thanks to that twit of a CFO James Beer, AA's choice not to invest in aircraft until the company was earning a market rate of return on their investment almost sank the company.

Is "twit" an ethnic slur? I hated his accent, too. Cool

Wow, amazing order.  And I was just reading about how Air Asia just ordered 200 A320's at the Paris air show and that was the biggest order at the time...this is almost mind-boggling!

I can't imagine an A320 in AA colors, but then again, I couldn't imagine one in CO colors either!

Wow!...I dont understand the A320 purchase one bit....Boeing must really have some issues....And I assume the A320's are gonna have the whole fuselage in gray like the original A300's were for AA...Pretty ugly in my opinion.
