The Airliners International 2013 Convention at the Sheraton Hopkins was a huge success, and OPShots would like to take a moment to thank all our members who helped out by volunteering their time or attending the event which concluded on Saturday! It was a bit overwhelming at times to see all the like-minded people and the variety of items available for sale or trade, and to try not to purchase everything in sight! Everyone is pretty tired out, but basking in the afterglow of a great event and the camaraderie that only such events can bring. A very special thanks goes out to Chris Slimmer of the World Airline Historical Society and Airliners International for choosing Cleveland for this year's event. Many thanks also go out to Mike Fox from United Airlines CLE Operations Department, Todd Payne from the Cleveland Airport System, the Cleveland Port Authority, the CLE Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting facility (ARFF), CommutAir, Liberty Air Museum and many more for their contributions to making this year's event a memorable one with behind-the-scenes tours and support for the community.
On a more personal note, it was with great pride for me that members of the OPShots family donated their time and talents to the event. From Dave (DJ) Reed, who's photo graced the cover of the Convention program; George Mihalek, who contributed five classic Hopkins photos used in the commemorative postcards published just for the show; Bob Beach and his wife Eileen who tirelessly worked the registration desk; Andrew Thon, Liz Stapleton, Nick Mahoney and Dave (DJ) Reed who helped work the door and registration desk...I can't thank you enough! Thanks also to the rest of the members and my co-workers who attended to help make this event the blast that it was!
I will be uploading more pics over the next couple days, but here's just one for now. Left to right: Dave (DJ) Reed, Bob Beach (n2828w), Cole Goldberg, and Chuck Slusarczyk Jr. (Me!)
Thanks again everyone...

It sure was fun! I got to meet Cole and Dave and George and Liz (I have known Chuck and Bob for a while). Nice meeting you guys and gal! I volunteered for a while Thursday and Friday and as Chuck said there was a lot to do, but the work was rewarding! I am already planning my Summer 2014 vacation to include Airliners International at LAX!
