Nikon just released it today. The Video mode is amazing with continues auto focus and true 1080HD this thing is going to be sweet.

Nikon just whooped Canon's butt with this camera.  The 60D is like a toy compared to the D7000.  Along with the primes Nikon has (like the 35mm 1.8), it's really tempting.  I can just hope that the 7D seriously drops in price or Canon replaces the 60D with a serious competitor in 12 months.  Shame on Canon, go Nikon...

From Nikon's website for the D7000:

"Dynamic ISO range from 100 to 6400 expandable to 25,600 (Hi2) lets you shoot in near darkness or slow down the action"

Is an ISO like that really usable?

Is an ISO like that really usable?

In near darkness is a little exaggerated.  But today's cameras do pretty well at extremely high ISO.  In ten years, I'm sure we will be able to shoot in near darkness and get decent results.
