co will be cutting the flights---duplicates (see co.com) are now listed but will be dropped from these markets
737 will remain in all other markets
note major shifts in markets system wide
co adding fligts from den/sfo/ord/iad
ua adding flights from Ewr to Florida and California along with Cle
about 165 flight changes are up and listed for sale
Some CLE feeder routes will be reduced, too. Some cities that used to get 3-4 ERJ's will be getting 2-3 ERJ/Dash8 flights. And apparently some Q400's will return to CLE-ORD.
If the recession bites, maybe fuel will come down making it cheap enough that flying the ERJ's will cost less than parking them. I don't think they can make money today even at CLE's yields. Of course, if recession bites, then demand will fall too and CLE will be reduced to preserve ORD. In practice, CLE probably diverts more traffic from DTW than ORD, but the UA guys won't think that way. Nasty little box to be in.

So...Massey, are you confirming the Airbus rumors? I asked at work and no one seemed to have heard such a thing. But then again, maybe it's something that they "ought not to say?" And our impression is that Colgan is going away at the end of this month...is this not so either?
I dread to think of what else we may not be getting told!??
On that "other website," a poster claimed that the A319s are merely placeholders for equipment for UA-operated flights (as are 738s for CO). So maybe there will still be tweaks between now and April 2012. I also read there that the single operating certificate (SOC) is supposed to take effect on 11/27 (while someone else said it was 11/30). There seems to be a lot of confusion and lack of clear communication right now. Anyone have the correct story?

A lot of 319's are in the spring CLE schedule to various cities; whether they're placeholders as guy44137 suggested, I don't know. If the CLE 737 pilot base gets further reduced, it kind of makes sense. Would they be placeholders for A320s? Maybe.
The point of my post was that UA keeps chipping away at CLE feeder routes, although this time the cuts are not disproportionate to simultaneous cuts at the other hubs.
Colgan, as a entity, is supposed to disappear along with their Saabs on December 3, I believe. The Q400s will migrate to Pinnacle (Mesaba?). I don't know what will happen to the Saabs if Delta is held in at some of the EAS points they want to drop. In similar circumstances, DOT ordered Air Midwest to keep flying but Mesa (owner of Air MW) shut them down anyway and left the govt twiddling their thumbs.
