Finally some good news after years of decline in passenger volume at CLE. Total passengers through March 2011 is up 6.88% over 2010 figures. Let's hope it continues. Can you believe MKE actually surpassed CLE in passengers in 2010?!
Here's a link to the figures: You need to be a member to view our links.
MKE has two smallish hubs: the old Midwest operation (now Frontier) and Air Tran (now Southwest).
You can make a case for both operations' survival, but it would be amazing for that to happen in a city MKE's size, unless the traffic is all sucked out of ORD.
Of course, I've been expecting for years that either Frontier or United would give up in DEN and that *still* hasn't happened. Just shows you what my predictions are worth.
The CLE numbers are great. If that keeps up maybe CLE will get back over 10 million this year. Chuck, you have to convince Chicago that CLE diverts DTW's traffic, not ORD's. 😉
