The FAA compromise funding bill includes ending the subsidy for service to Jamestown, Bradford, and Franklin/Oil City, all served only by Gulfstream out of CLE. If Gulfstream loses those cities, they may decide the rest of the CLE operation (Dubois, Parkersburg, and one flight a week to Lewisburg) isn't worth the trouble.
Sec'y of Transportation has the authority to order continuation of service, but whether he will or not is unknown. The congressional delegations from WV, PA, and NY have been pretty effective in keeping this flying going, but they may be out of silver bullets.
I was thinking it might make sense for Gulfstream to fill in some of the midweek and weekend gaps in CommutAir's CLE skeds, but new routes would would be good, too. Adding service, however, would require a big (and favorable) decision on UA's part regarding their plans for CLE – one they may not be willing to make yet.
