I have been looking at the English Language "Arab News" website to see if I can find anything out.
The Crown Prince left the Kingdom on March 4th for a private vacation. I'm guessing that he went to Tangiers, where he became ill or his condition deteriorated. This is probably why all three flights came from Tangiers. The SP's being able to reach CLE without a fuel stop.
The Saudi Royal Family usually have a large entourage and take everything bar the kitchen sink with them wherever they travel. The Crown Prince would have a much larger following and consequently more stuff! From what I saw on the apron yesterday, it was not your normal holiday gear. They also bring rugs, beds and bedding with them. Even a table that they tried to fit in my van but was way too big!
I can also tell you that back in 87 when I worked at Jeddah, Saudia(as it was then) were the only airline flying non-stop across the Atlantic from the Middle East using the SP's. They were frequently delayed due to having to make a fuel stop and on occasion were known to run out of fuel on the taxiway after landing and had to be towed to the Saudia Terminal at Jeddah! True!
