WOW this is a rare catch.. I didnt even think Saudi had a A340,but after checking around they DO...This aircraft seems to be based at IAD and goes out on training flights ,then goes back into IAD.....Seems like aircraft are starting to leave the east coast as huricanne Irene gets closer...Keep a eye on flightaware, times could change alot..............
I got some shots from the 100th and uploaded one. Everything should be getting back to normal now in the gallery. It is also a bit to late for a GEEK alert but there is a Swift Air 767 scheduled in tonight at 2am: You need to be a member to view our links.
I was eating dinner on my deck last night in Garfield Heights shortly before 6:00 p.m. and saw a large 4-engine jet passing over my house going roughly westward. I never got a great look at it, but it appeared to have a white belly and bluish tail. I'm usually pretty good with identifying airliners in flight, but I am not sure if this was the Saudi A340 or not. It appeared to be flying a bit higher than a plane approaching CLE. I thought initially that it might a DL 747 headed for DTW. Do you think that's what I spotted?
