Part of my chauffeur duties today was to meet a VIP jet arrival at Hopkins 11.30am. Did not know unil I got to assembly area E24 that this was what I was meeting. Only 3 hours late! Ho Hum, but at least I got to see an old friend from my time at Jeddah King Abdul Aziz International Airport, some 25 years ago. 747 SP HZ-AIF, no less. Wearing a different colour scheme to the white and green she carried when operating Jeddah to New York flights in 1987, it was good to see the old girl close up once again.

There is another due at 5.30pm but I'm not sure what that would have been, maybe a 777? Just got home from work so not checked it out yet.

All this activity, including the Airbus 319 yesterday is in connection with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia undergoing treatment at the Cleveland Clinic.

Second flight is also a 747SP, due any minute now and probably HZ-HM1B, from the assigned flight number.

Two Saudia Arabian SP's at Hopkins together!Cool

Thanks for the info and for sharing your personal connection.  How cool is that to see a couple of old friends!

Yes, the second one came in just as I was leaving work tonight, but the first one left shortly after it arrived this afternoon.  Last I saw it was pulling up to the customs gates on the A concourse.  Sure would have been cool to see two of them together, though!
