I'm asking because I have nothing but trouble with mine.  I've had technicians out here, logged hours of down time, made numerous calls, and all I get is "we show no trouble with your system."  Frankly, I would switch in a heartbeat if only I knew of a more reliable service.  My HD goes out every night, and sometimes even the regular cable is out as well.  They've replaced the line to the house, run tests, etc, but all I get is aggravated every night after work when I'm trying to watch my shows.  Comedy Central freezes up almost every night at 11:10, and sometimes doesn't come back for a long time, and that's just one small example of my problems with it.  When that happens, I switch to non-HD service just so I can see my shows, but that makes me wonder why I'm paying for "premium" service when sometimes I barely GET service!?

Last night, I couldn't even get regular service.  Oh wait…there was ONE channel that was working.  I was allowed to watch an interview with Mayor Frank Jackson for 15 minutes while the show I was watching quietly finished behind the scenes.  When it came back on, my show was over.  I know some folks here work there, so I feel bad about complaining publicly, and I really want to keep the service, but if this keeps up I don't know how much more I can take!

I'm just curious if it's only me?Confused  Okay…venting over!

I have never had TWC, but I've had 6 different acquaintances who have.   Of those 6, only 1 still has it and they pretty much complain about it all the time.   The 5 others have all left due to completely crappy TV service AND customer service.

personally speaking, if I ever need to change TV service I wouldn't even consider TWC

Well, that's kind of disappointing to hear.  I really was hoping it was just something in my area.  I have no problems with the customer service end of things...they've been nothing but nice to me...it's the actual service that I have issues with.  It's just frustrating when you've been watching something and you never get to finish because it's frozen; unavailable, or otherwise.

I think I'm going to have them come out again once more, but the problems seem to occur at night for the most part, and I can't have someone come out the instant it happens anyway.  And of course, once they arrive everything is working fine!  I just want it to work when I'm watching!

I dunno...Confused

I'm about a day away from switching to TWC.  I currently have DirecTV and have loved them for the past 12 years....but....it's getting too pricey.  I may sit on this for a few more days and do some more research.

I honestly think its something to do with my neighborhood, and generally, I like TWC...I've had them for years and haven't had these problems until I switched to HD service.  That's why I feel so badly about this...I'm a loyalist and would rather stay than go, and I'm sure you will have good service. I just wish we could figure out what keeps causing the interruptions in my neighborhood.

I've had DirectTV for 15+ yrs and I also love them.   Its not too pricey for me - yet,  but I only have the basic+ or extra or whatever its called.   No movies or extra stuff.    What I like most is that once I passed my 10 yrs with DirectTV, they have constantly given me freebies.   Free movies, Free movie channels, Free sports, Free MLB Extra innings, Free NFL Sunday Ticket, etc..  I'm always getting something in the mail notifying me of my next freebie.

TWC would have to pay ME (a lot!) to switch to them.   One of the customer service complaints that my family/friends always complained about was the constant and long waiting on the phone to finally speak to someone.   And they would have to call often because the TV service always sucked.

Yeah, I love the DTV freebies too.  I'll most likely stick with them.  Iwas hoping to bundle up the internet and tv under one company and that was the main driver.  Good input.

Chuck, hope your deal works out!

I have Directv also. HD transmissions were great at first, but lately the HD channels pixelate if there is so much as a cloud in the sky.  I think they are overloading their bandwidth.  But, I should count my blessings; my neighbors with Comcast cable are spitting mad all the time.

I have TWC digital cable with HD service.

I do have occasional problems with Comedy Central HD, but its not an every day occurrence, but when it happens, sometimes switching to another channel and then back right away helps, but when that doesnt work, I suck it up and watch the SD channel until the next commercial break, by then, the HD channel should be running fine.

Last month when I signed up for DVR service, I had to have a tech come to my apartment and he found out that the signal going into my cable box was a little too strong, so they corrected that and now my services all work.

They did have to replace the cable box i had picked up the day before, from what i hear, they would only like to replace the cable box as a last resort. Chuck, did they replace your box or try a few boxes when the techs came over to your place?

The only real problem I have with my cable is that the box seems to run a little slow, usually when changing channels.

I have TWC with the HD tier and don't have any problems. I bundled everything, phone, internet, and cable for a sweet price. I really can't complain BUT you should. They are pretty good, in my opinion, about making things right.

Call them up, tell them you are un-happy with their service and ask to speak to a supervisor. Explain the situation and say, Look, I like TWC and don't want to switch but with the problems I've been having I feel something needs to be done to rectify the situation'. Be polite, respectful, (I know you would) and see if they won't knock some money off your monthly bill for a year or so.

That is how I got my bundle package for 89.50 a month. When we moved in about five years ago, we had some issues. We called and called and ended up switching to Crapiest TV. I hated direct TV. So, I called TWC, said hey look, I was a customer back in the day, I'm not happy with Direct TV, what can you do? They came back with the bundle for 119.00 a month but after a few glitches, we pay the 89.50 for another 12 months. Good luck. Approach it from the  'I like you guys but I'm not a happy PAYING customer right now.
