went over in a small boat, saw a waterspout for the first time, last night, we stayed at a small cabin on the south shore the sky cleared out above us, was able to see many stars, and of course aircraft at altitude, was nice,
there were storms brewing to the south, so we were able to watch the clouds light up. Cedar Point had a fireworks show that we were able to see from the island.
last nights sunset was the best one i have ever seen in my life, and the clouds were amazing
the ride back to mainland was both exciting and nerve-racking as there were 5-6 foot waves and all 4 of us in the boat did not make it back to land dry

Great catch on the waterspout! I was up at the islands yesterday and today too…I was over on Catawba at the family cottage. It was super windy yesterday…I can't believe you were out in a small boat! Where did you guys go over from?
EDIT: I agree, last night's sunset was fantastic, but so many of them up there are! I got some nice shots I'll post in a bit!
Here's a shot I got from our deck looking west after sunset. That's Davis Besse on the left side, ten miles distant, and part of the crane for the jet-ski's on the right. The wind and waves blew all day and all night, finally calming down this afternoon. It was my first time up there this year, and completely enjoyed the visit!
