I left for work this Morning at about 4:15 I live in Medina and i had to drive to Euclid it was by far the WORST road conditions i have ever driven in i couldn't believe it. I didn't get to work till about 10 till 6 and its normally a 45 min drive. So in my book this was everything they said considering i went to bed at 10:30 and it wasn't snowing at all and woke up at 3:30 to at least 6 inches. and Tomorrow from the sounds of it is going to be even worse they are calling for blizzard conditions tonight.

I got into CLE around 0115 last night and it was like somebody turned the snow on with the flick of a switch. It was light out around Ravenna (Rt. 44) but literally 2 miles up the road it was near whiteout with snow covered roads. It took me 1 hour to get from Valley View to Brunstucky because the roads were all greasy.

Angelo, you work at Lincoln Electric don't you? I've made some pickups there when I ran for Estes. That is a huge facility man.

RampBoss, my company called me off. No line-haul ops tonight, thank God. A few other carriers like Estes, Dayton Freight and I believe Pitt Ohio aren't running either.... it is supposed to get nasty. Stay safe everyone!

Well, it's 6:45 and the rain just started downtown.  I'm not looking forward to digging/chopping my truck out tomorrow to go to work.  I just hope this all gets cleaned up by Saturday so I can make my flight to LA!

Good luck on your drive tonight...I don't envy you in the least.  I know you will anyway, but I just gotta say be careful out there!

Well, here on the Lake, I have a constant 22 mph wind out of the NE. Temp is 22, with a wind chill of 7. I can hear the ice hitting the back windows.

Out of the sandbox, finally!

Just went out and cleaned the car off.  The ice is probably 1/16th inch at the most, but as y'all know that can be a real bugger to get off because it doesn't provide much purchase for the ice scraper.

I also salted my walkway, which isn't smooth like a rink rather looks patterned.

There is a mix of rain and ice pellets falling here in Kent.  I'm praying that I can get to class tomorrow, as I have not arranged for a substitute.

Today wasn't too bad in Mansfield.  There was about a 1/4 inch of ice on everything, but I park in a garage at home, so I left without a debate from an ice scraper.  My 1 hour commute took 1:20, but mostly because I kept getting behind people who felt it necessary to go 15 MPH on the open, relatively clear road.  Coming home was a bit more challenging, but not terrible yet.  It's been raining/sleeting/making an icy mess for a while now; I walked outside across the yard a little bit ago and I did not sink into the 6 inches or so of snow that has already been on the ground for a while.  Wind seems to be fairly calm.  It's going to cut loose pretty soon I imagine.  If it's level 2 or above in any of the counties I drive through, I might have to call off "well" to work tomorrow......."well, I'm not coming to work today."

It's still raining/sleeting here downtown, but not really freezing yet.  It's smashing down all the snow that fell last night a bit.  I think if the temps drop another degree or two we'll be looking at some serious icing.
